So long as you aren't up to monkey business don't sweat the hand tan - adding the gloves is a good idea really because eventually you will hit rain or hail and then you will really understand why you are wearing those gloves!
Keep the rubber side down - and you eyes on the road - those strips of cloth are very distracting at times!
